Safex Anti Drop Valves

— Hyspecs Hydraulics

Don’t Drop Your Load If Your Hose Bursts!

Hyspecs SAFEX valves are designed to be mounted directly to the cylinders of hydraulic excavators, diggers and front end loaders that are used as cranes. With the correct installation and adjustment these valves prevent uncontrolled lowering in the event of a hose burst, thereby becoming part of the load holding and lowering system designed to comply with AS 1418.8 / ISO 8643.

Installation of the SAFEX valves should be done by a competent person that understands how to correctly setup the valves to meet the regulations. Because each machine has different joystick pilot pressures and main spool dynamics, hose burst valves cannot be purchased “pre-set” and ready to fit without adjustment.

The correct balancing of the SAFEX valve and machines main directional valve is essential and needs to be done on the machine. The opening of the SAFEX valve should lag behind the main directional valve while not affecting the machines stability and performance. This is achieved by matching each SAFEX valve to the machine on which it is installed, even machines of the same model may require individual fine tuning.

SAFEX manifolds are made from ductile iron rated to 400 Bar with nickel plating and suitable for machines with flows from 30 to 600 l/min.
